Francke upright piano for sale with an oak case. Entire cabinet features Neoclassical style carvings in high relief. The front panel features a central lyre flanked by two angels playing musical instruments and scrolling acanthus. The piano fall features a central carved anthemion surrounded by hibiscus and two cherubs trumpeting a fanfare. Sitting on top of the cabinet is openwork arcading carved with scrolling acanthus. The brass candlesticks feature two dragons. The legs feature two seated griffins with their wings outstretched. The cabinet is flanked with two Corinthian, fluted pilasters. Piano has an eighty-five keyboard and two pedals. Price includes rebuild

Neoclassicism
Neoclassicism was a Western cultural movement in the decorative and visual arts, literature, theatre, music, and architecture that drew inspiration from the art and culture of classical antiquity. Neoclassical architecture is based on the principles of simplicity and symmetry, which were seen as virtues of the arts of Rome and Ancient Greece. Decorative techniques employed in the style include low frieze-like relief, medallions, vases, busts and bucrania suspended on swags of laurel or ribbon, with slender arabesques against backgrounds.
