Entire cabinet features Rococo style, carvings accented with gilt detail
Rococo style, 1979, Steinway Model O grand piano with matt, ivory coloured case. Piano has ornately carved, cabriole legs with scroll feet. Leg top carved with scrolling acanthus, cabuchon and a palmette in high relief with gilt detail. Entire cabinet bordered with asymmetrical, scrolling acanthus and rocailles accented with gilt paint. Carved floral bouquets adorn the cheek and side cabinet with interwoven basketwork and acanthus. The two-pedal piano lyre is in a mirrored S-scroll design with central shell motif, adorned with acanthus. Piano music desk is bordered with C-scrolls and acanthus with a central asymmetrical flourish. Piano lid has a beveled edge accented with a flowing gilt line. Piano comes with a matching piano stool. Piano representative of sumptuous Rococo style with sensuous curving lines and lavish high relief carving.

Rococo Style

It is often described as the final expression of the Baroque movement. The word rococo was first used as a humorous variation of the word rocaille.
